It has been a slow couple of weeks but we made up for that today. By running calls for 4 hours straight. At approximately 1106 hrs. District 1 was dispatched to Demott Lane for a report of a garage fire. Upon the arrival of Car 56 he confirmed a working structure fire in an attached garage. Additional units to include a RIT from Station 27 were dispatched as well as Truck 23 and Engine 55-1 were moved up to cover the district. While operating on Demott Lane cover units responded to 2 additional alarm activations with one being a broken sprinkler pipe in a maunufaturing facilty. Prior to units clearing the 2 alarms and Demott Lane fire an activated fire alarm was recieved at the high school. Upon update from the police department of smoke in a hallway a full second alarm was transmitted by 26-1 who had established command. The smoke was a result of a small fire which was quickly extinguished and resulted in minimal damage and no injuries. During the course of the day we also responded to 2 additional fire alarms and a CO alarm. Frankilin Fire Prevention Unit also responded and assisted at the fires.
