2ND ALARM STRUCTURE FIRE

pStations 26 and 56 were dispatched to a report of a smoke condition on the 3rd floor of 100 Davidson Avenue a 3 story commercial office building. Car 26 Vladyka and Car 56 Lesik arrived simultaneously Car 26 established command Car 56 was assigned Operations Chief.nbsp Upon further investigation heavy smoke was discovered in the Div. D side stairwell.nbsp At that time Car 26 requested a second alarm assignment bringing stations 28 and 44 from D1 and station 27 RIT nbspand 55 engineto the scene.nbsp Ladder 26 arrived and DC Lipman divided his crew sending a crew to the roof and a crew to the interior.nbsp Ladder 26 entered the building with engine 562s crew.nbsp 562 secured a water supply and supplied the FDC.nbsp When crews entered the stairwell they were met with near zero visibility and made their way to the 3rd floor Div. D side.nbsp562nbsptied into the standpipe and stretched a line Ladder 26 interior forced a locked hallway door and discovered a working fire in a large office cubicle area. 562 advanced and began extinguishment.nbsp Ladder 26 exterior performed vertical ventilation of the fire room and opened up the roof scuttle.nbsp Shortly after the fire was knocked down the first in crews began making their way out to be relieved.nbsp Upon exiting the building the accountability officer discovered a firefighter from 562 had not exited with his crew.nbsp When he was contacted he related that he was lost and out of air on Div.3.nbsp A mayday was sent out and the FAST team was activated and sent into the building.nbsp The missing firefighter was locatednbsp by Sta.56 firefighters on Div. 3 and handed off to the FAST team where he taken to BLS and transported to the hospital with smoke inhalation.nbsp The firefighter had gotten disoriented while exiting in the heavy smoke condition within the maze of offices and cubicles.nbsp He was later released from the hospital and is thankfully doing fine. Franklin Township Fire Marshals are investigating the cause of the fire.ppThis was the 8th call for station 26 in 12 hours which included fire and CO alarms and elevator rescue and a vehicle fire.p
