WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO THE BANNER?????

pIn August 2008 Station 26 participated in the Iron and Steel run saluting the convoy moving a memorial cross of WTC steel from New York City to Shanksville PA at the site of the crash of Flight 93 on September 11th 2001.nbsp As a tribute to the convoy and the Shanksville first responders Station 26 members created two identical banners – the first was displayed along the convoy route over Route 287 at Davidson Ave. the second was given to the convoy when they stopped for fuel in New Jersey for display at the memorial service.nbsp After handing the banner off that day nothing had been heard about it – if it was delivered to the Shanksville FD if it made it to the memorial service if anyone even knew it was there.ppSome recent internet investigative work by Station 26 members has solved the mystery.nbsp Not only was the banner on display at the memorial it now commands a place of great honor – the wall of the Shanksville firehouse.nbsp The banner from Route 287 holds a similar place of honor – the wall of Station 26 Thanks to Dru from Georgia for allowing the use of her picture of the banner in Shanksville.nbspppNEVER FORGOTTENp
