Steel From World Trade Center Arrives At Station 26.

pThe members of the Elizabeth Ave. Fire Company have been given a unique opportunity to memorialize the victims of the tragic events that occurred on September 11 2001. We are very honored to announce that we have received a beam from The World Trade Center thanks to the Port Authority of New York ampnbspNew Jersey. On the morning of December 2nd 6 members of Station 26 took the trip to JFKnbspspan fcktemp1spanAirport in Queens to pick up the steel beam. Once inside the hanger where the artifacts have laid for almost a decade the members were given a sobering reminder of the destruction and the innocent lives that were lost on that fateful day. We have been told that our beam comes from near the impact zone of the North Tower. The Fire Company will be constructing a memorial where the beam will be permanently displayed in the spring of 2011.brppWe must never forget the lives lost on 91101.brp
