STATION 26 RECEIVES COMMENDATION FROM THE NEW JERSEY DIVISION OF FIRE SAFETY

pAt tonights Board of Fire Commissioners meeting Somerset County Mutual Aid Coordinator Doug Rue presented Chief Lipman with a Letter of Commendation to Station 26 for their participation in the response to Essex County after Hurricane Irene in September 2011.nbsp After Hurricane Irene struck multiple companies from throughout New Jersey including Station 26 were requested to deploy their tankers to Essex County after flooding knocked out a major water system pump station leaving much of the county without water.nbsp Station 26 staffed Engine 263 in for a shift in South Orange and a shift in Irvington while still covering the bases at home completing multiple dewatering assignments in the fire district as well as participating in dewatering strike teams in other Somerset County municipalities.ppJust another example of the Station 26 work ethicnbsp Great job to the officers and members who made this long distance cover assignment happenppnbspp
