Station 26 received a call from BelmarFD asking for help this year as they cope with the effects of Hurricane Sandy.The town sustained heavy damage and flooding as a result of the storm. Their toy drive was in jeopardy and they made the call for help whichElizabeth Ave Fire immediately answered. Coras Mom Pam read about ourcollecting toys for Belmar and mentioned it to Cora. It seems that the dayafter the storm while driving through Somerset and seeing the damage hereCora became very upset. Her birthday was to follow in a few weeks and afterbeing told about our helping Belmar she told her Mom that she didnt wantanything for her birthday but that she wanted to donate any gifts she was toget to the toy drive. When Cora her Mom and Father arrived at the firehousethe duty crew that night took time out to thank her for her very generousdonation and had several pictures taken with her.
