Our entire region was hit with a powerful storm that dumped between 6-8 inches of rain. During a 30 hour period Station 26 was on stand-by and responded to dozens of calls. These calls included requests for dewatering at a number of residential homes rescuing motorists stranded in the flood waters fire alarms smoke conditions and providing coverage for the Bound Brook FD. Everyone did a great job under difficult conditions and with little rest. A special thank you to our Ladies Auxilary for their assistance in feeding our members.
NEW CAR 26 IN PRODUCTION
The new Car 26 a 2007 Chevy Suburban is in production. All 4 stations in Fire District 1 are replacing their exsisting 1997 Ford Expeditions. PL Custom in Manasquan NJ is outfitting each of the new trucks delivery is expected in early May. Additional photos and details to follow.
MUTUAL AID RESPONSE INTO MANVILLE-2ND ALARM STRUCTURE FIRE
Ladder 26 Car 26 and Van 26 responded mutual aid into the borough of Manville for the 2nd alarm working structure fire with entrapment. Upon arrival Ladder 26 was reassigned from a FAST assignment to assist with extinguishment. Tragically this fire claimed the lives of three residents. See Manvile FD website for pictures and video
