Station 26 would like to congratulate Lt John Bassi as he starts his full time career in public safety . Lt Bassi was sworn in tonight as Hillsborough Townships newest Fire Inspector . Some of the station 26 members was present during the swearing in ceremony along with Lt Bassi family. On December 12, 2017 at 3:23 am , Ladder 26 was requested into Franklin District 3 area for a cover assignment while they operated on a structure at 109 Highland ave. Car 26 and Ladder 26 responded to East Franklin Fire Department (Station 27) to cover District 3 for any fire calls. Units was cleared from the assignment at 5:03 am.
Congratulations to Firefighter Xavier Burton 2672 who graduated to a black shield this past weekend. Xavier took his Engine Company Test to get off probation. This test is a demonstration of skills and knowledge. The knowledge test consists of quizzing on several critical SOGs such as Accountability, Mayday, Air Management, Radio Procedures and a closed door quiz on all the compartments on Engine 261. Examples of the skills test includes Forcible Entry, Dressing Hydrants and Low Profile Maneuvers on SCBA.

Earlier this fall, construction started on the new Hazmat 26 at the Pierce factory in Wisconsin. Here are a couple pictures from the latest report that was sent to us. We are expecting a delivery date near the end of January.
Station 26 will be again participating in the 9-11 remembrance services at St. Matthias Church 168 John F Kennedy Boulevard in Somerset. The service begins at 3PM on 9-11 and will conclude with the placement of the wreath at the John Collins memorial in front of the church. The service is open to the public, come join us in never forgetting.
